Located in a historic building at Zwartenhovenbrugstraat 62 in downtown Paramaribo, Kaneri Café is a small café serving Surinamese sandwiches, locally sourced coffee, homemade treats, and daily lunch specials.

Kaneri started as a catering and baking business before growing into a café, bringing traditional Surinamese flavors into a more contemporary setting. The menu features familiar local favorites such as broodje pom, zoutevis, kerrie-ei, kip, and kroket, alongside options like pesto scrambled eggs and tofu with tempeh. Freshly prepared soups and rotating lunch specials are also available.

Coffee is a particular focus at Kaneri, with beans from three Surinamese brands: Katwijk Koffie, Sweetie Coffee, and Coffee Mama. Alongside regular espresso drinks, cappuccinos, and iced lattes, the café serves a Surinamese-style cappuccino made with almond orgeade. Soy and oat milk are available as alternatives to dairy milk.

The drinks menu also includes matcha lattes, fresh juices, homemade iced teas, and local refreshments such as ginger beer and passion fruit ginger punch. For something sweet, Kaneri offers homemade cakes and Surinamese pancakes, with selections varying throughout the week.

Customers can sit down for a coffee or lunch, or order ahead for pickup through WhatsApp. Kaneri also provides catering for corporate lunches, meetings, and private events, with menus tailored to the occasion and budget.
